Sanjay Poonen joined VMware in August 2013 and is responsible for worldwide sales, services, ecosystem and alliances, global marketing and communications and cross-portfolio product marketing.
During his tenure at VMware, Poonen held the role of Executive Vice President and General Manager for the End-User Computing business unit. In this role, he was responsible for strategy, products, engineering, marketing and sales across all of VMware's End-User Computing offerings.
Before VMware, Poonen was president and corporate officer of Platform Solutions and the Mobile Division at SAP AG. During his more than seven years at SAP, Poonen held several executive-level roles in product development and sales, including leading SAP’s Analytics, Big Data, Mobile and all Industry Business Units, driving many solutions to industry-leading market positions.
Prior to SAP, Poonen held executive roles at Symantec, VERITAS and Informatica, and he began his career as a software engineer at Microsoft, followed by Apple.
Poonen holds two patents as well as an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he graduated a Baker Scholar; a master's degree in management science and engineering from Stanford University; and a bachelor's degree in computer science, math and engineering from Dartmouth College, where he graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
Ms. McKenna is currently the Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer for the NFL. She is responsible for their technology strategy, shared service delivery and management of the league’s technology activities.
Ms. McKenna joined the NFL from Constellation Energy where she was the Chief Information Officer. She led the acquisition of competitive energy businesses and the ultimate merger with Exelon.
Prior to joining Constellation Energy, McKenna was President of Vision Interactive Media Group, where she was responsible for marketing, technology, business development, operations and finance.
She has extensive experience in the media and entertainment industry as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Universal Orlando Resort. In this role, she was responsible for the innovation, oversight and leadership of technology at Universal Orlando Resort, including the launch of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
McKenna was also Senior Vice President, CRM & Chief Information Officer at Centex Destination Properties. She also had a 13-year career with The Walt Disney World Company in a variety of executive positions in Resort Development, Finance, Marketing, Operations and Technology.

Steve Gold is Vice President of Cybersecurity Solutions at CIS®, the Center for Internet Security.
Steve joined CIS in April of 2018 from Varonis Systems, where he established the company’s State, Local and Education (SLED) business. Joe Kinsella is an entrepreneur and technologist who’s passionate about Boston, baseball, and all things cloud (not necessarily in that order). He was also a managing director at Dell, where he led global engineering teams delivering multiple SaaS products, and VP of Engineering at SilverBack Technologies (acquired by Dell), where he helped pioneer remote IT management software. Joe also has the unusual distinction of having been a member of the “first Scrum team”, as a founding member of the Easel Synchronicity team before the advent of the Agile Manifesto.
Tom Axbey is Vice President of CloudHealth by VMware.
Tom was formerly President and CEO of CloudHealth Technologies, until the company was bought by VMware in October 2018. A veteran software executive, Tom was previously CEO of venture-backed Rave Mobile Safety where he spearheaded the turnaround, growth and acquisition of Rave by a leading West Coast growth equity firm.
Prior to joining Rave in 2008, Tom held two executive posts at IBM. He joined IBM after Tivoli’s business unit acquired publicly traded Micromuse, where Tom served as senior vice president and GM of the Americas. Earlier, he held executive roles at venture-backed American Internet and Quallaby Corp., where he spearheaded the successful acquisitions by Cisco and Micromuse, respectively. Tom remains a board member at Rave and also serves on the board of Tervela and BUILD Boston.
Sharon is an active leader with a strong record of developing and managing technical training and enablement organizations. She has lead the CloudHealth training team for the last two years to create innovative solutions that help customers, partners, and employees master complex technical products and meet business goals. Her team delivers world-class training, including virtual instructor-led training, on-site training, self-paced product training, and certification.
Adam Schepis has been working as an engineer and architect at CloudHealth by VMware for five years. In that time he has worked on nearly every part of the platform, including spending a year as the lead for the CloudHealth governance functionality. Over his more than 15 years in engineering, Adam has developed a strong interest in treating programming as a craft. With a focus on cost optimization, Greg has served as a Senior Technical Account Manager for CloudHealth, helping East Coast enterprise customers with their infrastructure, and assisting with their cloud initiatives.
Samir Mehra is the Director of Products at CloudHealth by VMware, shaping new strategic initiatives across Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and Data Center infrastructure. Prior to CloudHealth by VMware, he was the Director of Product Management at Transitional Data Services.
Chris is a Senior Technical Account Manager at CloudHealth by VMware. Over the past three years he has worked in-person with direct customers and partners across multiple geographies. Marie Burke is a Senior Product Marketing Manager at CloudHealth by VMware. Over the past several years she has collaborated with the product, sales, and customer success teams to analyze the cloud management market and develop content to support the CloudHealth AWS, Azure, and Partner Platforms. Previously, Marie was a product marketer at NetApp, responsible for the OnCommand Management Suite and AltaVault product.
Georges is the Global Director of Partner Customer Success at CloudHealth by VMware. His technical account management team is accountable for onboarding and enabling CloudHealth’s partners. Georges was the first Technical Account Manager in the early days of CloudHealth and helped build the customer success organization globally.
Prior to CloudHealth, Georges worked in client solutions at Kiva systems (acquired by Amazon). Georges has an M.S. in computer science and a Ph.D in Engineering Management and Systems Engineering.
As the Manager of Cloud Cost Governance at Verizon, Karen has extensive experience in managing cloud programs for both individual business cases and the overall funding process. Karen has been instrumental in driving a number of cost optimization initiatives at Verizon - targeting both the engineering community and business portfolio leaders. By providing value tracking analytics and portfolio support, she has been able to proactively identify and effectively communicate savings opportunities across all business lines.

Sonali Desai is a Product Marketing Manager for VMware Cloud on AWS at VMware, Inc. Sonali has been working in IT industry for more than 15 years with experience ranging from Software Development, Product Management to Product Marketing. Cathal manages the Cloud Center of Excellence at VMware. Cathal began his career at VMware in 2009 as a pre-sales Systems Engineer in Ireland. He relocated to VMware Palo Alto, CA office in 2016. Tim Buntel is VP of Application Security Products at Threat Stack. Prior to this role, Tim has built globally recognized software businesses for 20 years at startups, mid-sized companies in transition, and the largest global brands, including Atlassian, Adobe, Microsoft, and XebiaLabs with an emphasis on developer tools and platforms; helping developers build better software. He is also a founding mentor and Board member at Smarter in the City, a non-profit high-tech accelerator with a mission to diversify Boston’s startup sector by providing support and resources for local minority-run ventures.

Tony has spent his career holding numerous positions within IT including, system administration, software development, quality assurance, and architecture. David is Director of Strategic Technology at Zendesk. In addition to a long career at Cloud and Internet companies, David is active in IEEE and has contributed many talks and papers to the software industry. David graduated at UCSC and started his career in a Unix startup in Santa Cruz.

Megan leads the East Coast Technical Account Management Team at CloudHealth by VMware and works with her team to drive value and adoption across the direct customer base. Marc is a senior program manager on the Apigee team at Google. He is responsible for overseeing Apigee's cloud usage: working with Engineering, analyzing, optimizing and shaping consumption, and with Product, Sales and Finance teams, informing general go-to-market approach. Ken is a Senior Developer for Vanguard’s Cloud Business Office. His cross functional team is responsible for managing the AWS bill across the entire organization. Over the past two years, Ken has helped drive efficient behavior in the cloud by defining new policies, implementing automation, and collaborating closely with Vanguard’s vast organization. Prior to this role, Ken focused on supply chain optimization with clients primarily in aerospace and manufacturing verticals. In addition to his career Ken has contributed a number of papers to the field of Operations Research with a focus on applied combinatorial optimization.
Barbara currently leads Vanguard’s Cloud Business and Program Management Office. Barbara has over 35 years of IT experience, holding various technical and management roles. She has been with Vanguard for over 29 years, working in the Cloud area for the last 2 years, most recently taking on as the lead for the Cloud Business office. The Cloud Business Office serves as a central business partner between our System’s Integration team and key stakeholders to deliver, support and monitor Vanguard’s cloud implementation. A key focus for the CBO is to manage and control our Cloud costs.
Tim is currently the Project Manager of Vanguard’s Cloud Business Office (CBO) which is the center of excellence responsible for managing Vanguard’s AWS bill. The major areas of focus for Tim & team are defining cost optimization policy and best practices while driving transparency and accountability of the AWS bill. Prior to joining the CBO 2 year ago, Tim has 10 years of experience working in various corporate IT finance & strategy roles both at Vanguard and a large fortune 50 company. This prior experience in finance is a foundational skillset that Tim has leveraged to support Vanguard’s migration to the consumption based cost model that exists in public cloud.
Lucas is a Sr. Product Manager at CloudHealth by VMware, focused on the GCP cloud business initiative and driving the multi-cloud governance model. Lucas’ passion is helping customers succeed in optimizing their cloud environment and developing operational strategies to maintain SLA-based optimization through policies and automation. Prior to CloudHealth, George worked at several startups, led the marketing for EMC's object and cloud storage solutions, and spent seven years as an industry analyst covering IT management software and cloud computing and services.
Mike is a Senior Product Manager at CloudHealth by VMWare, focused on Cloud Economics and Cloud Financial reporting. He has deep expertise in AWS Reservation Management as well as Container Cost Management.
Chris leads information security and risk management at Symphony Talent, a leading global provider of talent acquisition and recruitment marketing solutions. Over the past fifteen years his career has taken him from database and systems engineering in the defense and financial industries to a fully converted SecOps/DevOps and cloud evangelist.
